I grew up reading Warriors but looking back there’s a lot of weird shit. Fun fact, it’s not one author, but a group of authors that writes the books.

I keep seeing comments like this about none of us having local accounts. My account is local??? I was one of the first mods brought on by Moss, so I’m not sure where this came from. I had a shitjustworks account at first, but I switched over almost immediately so maybe that was it? Our reports counter is consistently at 0.
The rest is accurate.
Peachy [they/she] ( [email protected] ) to 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Delusional mod ruleEnglish3·4 months agoWe remove them when they’re reported or find them in the field. I go through most posts of the day but it’s entirely possible I didn’t click on every single comment section. The extremely long ones load really weird for me, I find that most posts with 100+ comments tended to be the issue but the community usually does a good job reporting trash comments pretty quickly.
We’ve had people assume that because a post was 1-2 days old, the comments were also exactly that old, so I’m not sure if that’s what you’re thinking of… on the more extreme side we’ve also had 7-day old posts still racking up new comments that I had to lock because it was getting out of hand.

I remember when Moss had to make one
of what? A local account? That was my first sentence. I have a local account.
He should have told you that
told me what? Who are you talking about? Moss?
it’s not her fault
Never said it was??? At no point did I point fingers at Ada for anything??? I’m confused by her statement that reports were frequently left to rot, which just wasn’t the case at all. She said no mods with local accounts were added and that led to reports piling up. I have a local account. I frequently saw the reports tab have zero reports. I’m not saying she’s lying, I’m confused by our difference in what happened. It’s entirely possible she mixed up report logs. I don’t know, I’m not omniscient.
not unreasonable to expect mods to… actually be able to read all reports
Again, we read all the reports. We never had more than 10 at a time even during shitstorms and the queue was constantly empty.
Peachy [they/she] ( [email protected] ) to 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Delusional mod ruleEnglish10·4 months agoI have a local account and anytime we got the “reports are piling up” message from Ada it was maybe 3 reports that were less than 12 hours old. We never had reports older than 2 days at least since I started helping August 7th, 2023. I check everyday, if I wanted another mod’s opinion of a report I left it up while I waited for a response but we never just ignored the reports. I’m not sure where Ada is coming from saying that the admins needed to hop in to resolve reports.
She went and removed/banned people that we had already resolved reports on, that was our main concern. We asked for her to let us know if there was any holes in the rules she wanted us to fill so the ruling is consistent with the rules we have posted and she basically just said she’s going to do what she’s been doing.

Peachy [they/she] ( [email protected] ) to 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•the rule-ing class doesn't care about youEnglish41·5 months agoFor anyone unaware. California uses slavery to fight fires. This is why cops have a higher budget after cutting the Fire Budget. Anyone arrested for non-violent crimes, who serve a sentence of 10 months or more are pressured to join fire camp. They are not given full PPE. They get less than $1/hour when fighting active fires and it’s extremely dangerous. They can’t even be hired by Fire Departments when they leave prison.
This is why being unhoused is criminalized. It fuels the slavery machine. Other states lease out prisoners to work fast food, make clothes, etc. The USA is heavily backed by slave labor still to this day.

This was reported for potential harassment. Just to clarify for other users, doctor’s sausage is a Russian sausage. It’s pretty similar to saying “damn, you don’t know spam when you see it? Shit…” (spam has a similar history…kind of)
Pretty sure this was a joke but The Faraway Paladin is an isekai that seems VERY inspired by, if not derivative of, The Hobbit.
Japan has insanely long titles for light novels (which was also adopted by manga) in order to get people to pick up books. There’s such an influx of light novels the writers starting turning the titles into summaries.
No that was my point. Weird that they still clasp so tightly to class differences despite all the lessons they should have been learning from their entire history.
I had to look it up… unfortunately. Coming from a Brit is crazy though, considering their whole history as a country.
I think I saw some creator on TikTok speak on it, this explores some of the themes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOs2YM3PAc0 - OH EW WTF I JUST SAW A COMMENT ON A DIFFERENT YOUTUBE VIDEO: “The fact that she based Bella off of herself to a dot really makes the fact that her brothers name is Jacob so much weirder.”
It’s weird how much of Twilight overlays with Mormon lore. The vampires Stephanie writes are basically angels, with the “bad” vampires being the ones who fell.
This was the reason I didn’t finish SMS when I was a kid. These fucking levels crushed my soul
